The Journey of Starting a Business with the Sam Project from School

I am a 12th grade student at a high school in Nam Dinh. Although my hometown is not in a high mountain area or where rare ginseng species are grown, since I was a child, I have heard my parents tell about the wonderful uses of ginseng for human health. During the times when my mother cooked ginseng water or when my father told stories about folk remedies, I gradually developed a special love for this plant.

Ideas to Start a Business From School

During a civics lesson on the topic of entrepreneurship, the teacher encouraged us to think about startup ideas that fit the needs of society. I thought about ginseng – a precious medicinal herb that many people know about but has not really been exploited effectively. My idea is to create convenient products from ginseng such as tea bags, lozenges, and soluble ginseng powder, to serve the needs of young people and busy people. I named my project “Green Ginseng”, with the desire to not only develop products but also spread awareness of health protection with natural values.

To start, I spent time learning about ginseng, from its biological properties to how to process and preserve it. I learned by myself through books, online documents, and consulted with experienced people. I even boldly contacted a ginseng farm in the North to learn from the real world. After grasping the basic knowledge, I decided to convince a group of close friends in class to join me in turning the idea into reality.

Early Challenges and Successes

Starting a business is not easy, especially when we are still students. Lack of experience, lack of capital, and limited time are the biggest obstacles. To raise capital, my friends and I organized a sale of ginseng tea in the school yard during recess. The first glasses of ginseng tea were enthusiastically supported by friends and teachers. From the money we earned, we continued to research and launched ginseng tea bags.
 
Our ginseng tea products received positive feedback from teachers and parents, thanks to their easy-to-drink taste and eye-catching packaging design. We also participated in school-level startup competitions and won consolation prizes, creating more motivation to continue developing the project.

Conclude

The “Green Ginseng” project not only helps me learn many practical skills but also inspires my peers about creativity and entrepreneurship. I hope that with my efforts and passion, my project will grow, contributing to promoting the values ​​of ginseng and affirming the youth of my hometown Nam Dinh.
